What is a feeder fund?

A feeder fund is a type of investment fund that pools capital from investors to ultimately invest in a larger master fund. It provides structure that gives smaller investors access to investment opportunities that may otherwise be accompanied by high minimums.

The feeder fund usually contributes the pooled assets to the master fund, which then invests the aggregated capital according to a predetermined investment strategy.
